Quick Verdict
A capable, accelerator-rich single-socket server CPU targeted at communications and edge deployments; its value depends on your workload's use of QAT, DSA, DLB and AMX, otherwise it may be overkill versus lighter Xeon 6 SKUs.

Server
A 32-core, single-socket server SoC in the Xeon 6 lineup built on Intel 3, with 128 MB of L3 cache, DDR5-6400 support, 48 PCIe lanes (Gen 5/4), and integrated accelerators (QAT, DSA, DLB) and vRAN Boost for edge and communications workloads.
The Intel Xeon 6546P-B packs 32 performance cores, 64 threads, a 195 W TDP, 128 MB of L3 cache, and supports DDR5-6400 across four memory channels with up to 1.13 TB per socket. It offers 48 PCIe lanes (32 at Gen 5 and 16 at Gen 4) and integrates accelerators: Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT), Data Streaming Accelerator (DSA), Dynamic Load Balancer (DLB), and vRAN Boost, plus Intel AMX for matrix math, TDX and SGX for confidential computing.
It is a single-socket BGA4368 part aimed at communications and edge workloads rather than general-purpose data centers that scale to multiple sockets. Because the 6546P-B ships in a BGA package, it is typically sold pre-soldered on OEM boards rather than as a boxed upgrade part.
